Disqus plugin changes Hemlock's comment icon to text

Please note: This FAQ article is specifically for the Hemlock theme.

When using the Disqus plugin with Hemlock, the plugin can "hijack" the comment icon within a post's social share icon section and turn it to text. To override this and return your comment icon back to its lovely former self, follow these instructions:

Open up your theme's "content.php" file. You can typically edit your theme's primary files via Appearance > Editor, via FTP, or via a code editor plugin such as WPide (recommended).
Look to Line 96 where you will see the line of code for the comment icon. This line of code looks like:

<?php comments_popup_link( '<span class="share-box"><i class="fa fa-comment-o"></i></span>', '<span class="share-box"><i class="fa fa-comment-o"></i></span>', '<span class="share-box"><i class="fa fa-comment-o"></i></span>', '', ''); ?>

Replace that line of code with the following code instead:

<a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>#comments_wrapper"><span class="share-box"><i class="fa fa-comment-o"></i></span></a>

Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the "content.php" document. On Line 113, you will see:

<?php comments_template( '', true );  ?>

Replace that bit of code with the following instead:

<div id="comments_wrapper"><?php comments_template( '', true );  ?></div>

Be sure to save the changes you made to your file when finished.

Please note: If you also have Disqus comments enabled on your Pages, please be sure to repeat these steps within the "content-page.php" theme file. In this file, you can find the comment icon link code on Line 30 and the "comments_template" code on Line 36.
