Sitka v1.3 out now! [Changelog] [How to update]

Make Hemlock's logo area full-width

Please note: This FAQ Article is specifically for the Hemlock theme.

By default, Hemlock's logo image is centered within a container that is 940px wide. If you have a larger logo image or full-width hero image that you'd like to exceed this 940px width container, you can follow these steps to remove the width restriction on the logo image area.

We will need to access the theme's "header.php" file.

We recommend installing and activating a code editor plugin such as WPide.

Once you have installed "WPide", you can navigate to WP Dashboard > WPide > themes > hemlock > and open the theme file titled "header.php".

Within "header.php" file, on Line 70, you will see the following code:

<div class="container">

You can delete this line of code.

Next, on Line 94, you will see this bit of code:

There will be 2 little bits of code, one above the other, which look like:   </div>
You can delete the second one.

Be sure to save the file when you're finished.

Lastly, to have your logo image display at 100% its original size, you can navigate to WP Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Custom CSS, and copy & paste in the following code:

#logo img {max-width: 100%;}

If you'd like your logo image to span the entire width of the site, we recommend ensuring your image is at approximately 1920px wide.
